Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Regional DirectorVolunteers of AmericaBeanca Williams is the Regional Director of Volunteers of America Texas (VOATX) Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Program in the Houston Region. She has worked with individuals with disabilities for 35+ years and has always been dedicated to ensuring that all individuals are given a chance to reach their full potential. As a leader in this field, Beanca has collaborated with various profit and nonprofit organizations as well as state and local offices advocating on behalf of those with disabilities. She is a member of the state Deaf Blind Multiple Disabilities task force, a board member of the Private Provider Association of Texas and a subject matter expert on the state’s Service and Care Coordination and Service Delivery Options committee. She is a past member of the state’s Star Kids Advisory Committee.
Beanca is a native New Orleanian, moving to Houston after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. She graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Sociology. In 2016, she was commissioned as a minister with Volunteers of America, a church without walls. In this capacity, she serves all VOATX programs and clients in the Houston region offering spiritual support to uplift the most vulnerable as the lead minister. She is also a 2024 graduate of Lakewood Church University’s Leadership program. Beanca is the mother of three adult sons and has one grandson. She is an avid basketball fan that loves to read, travel and take long walks. She enjoys educating others and being of service. |
